Recipe: Raisin Toast + Choc. Hazelnut Spread

Hi !! Good morning!! Have you had your breakfast today? "Rush on time"? It is never an excuse for skipping your first meal of the day. Here is an idea of having a really simple, cheap and quick recipe : Raisin Toast + Choc Hazelnut Spread !

Step 1 : buy a loaf of raisin toast + chocolate hazelnut spread/ Nutella

Add some raisins on the toast!! YUM!!

This combination neutralize the sourness in the raisins and the sweetness of the hazelnut chocolate. However, if you are not a sweet-tooth person, you might think it is too sweet because of the chocolate spread, you can try to add peanut butter jam too. My sister does that always : Raisin Toast + Choc. Hazelnut Spread + Peanut Butter Jam.

5 mins recipe, SOOOOO simple and quick !! No more excuses for skipping your BREAKFAST!

Additional: Are you hungry always in the middle of the class? Why not bringing along some foods to university? Save time + Save money + "Save" hunger

Put them in your bag, never afraid that you will be hungry anymore. :)

(materials were bought from ALDI Australia : https://www.aldi.com.au/  except for the chocolate bars, from Coles)

English Afternoon Tea In Sydney

English Afternoon Tea In Sydney

Afternoon tea is a light meal typically eaten between 4 pm and 6 pm. Observance of the custom originated between the wealthy classes in England in the 1840s.

Traditionally, black tea is brewed in a teapot and served with milk and sugar. The sugar and caffeine of the concoction provided fortification against afternoon doldrums for people.

In long time ago,  the tea was sometimes accompanied by a small sandwich or baked snack (such as scones) . Nowadays, for the more options, afternoon tea can be accompanied by luxury ingredient sandwiches (customarily cucumber, egg and cress, fish paste, ham, and smoked salmon), scones (with clotted cream and jam, see cream tea) and usually cakes and pastries (such as Battenberg cake, fruit cake or Victoria sponge). In hotels and tea shops the food is often served on a tiered stand.

In Australia, one of the most popular tea shop is called "Betty's Cafe Tea Rooms". Betty's mouth watering cakes, refreshing teas and friendly smiles have made it world famous.

Betty's black tea tastes like dried leaves soaked in water. It has just a little sharpness, almost like coffee, but weaker and milder. It's free to mix with lemon or milk. You can put sugar in it or, better, a little honey. It can be smokey (lapsang souchong), or floral (jasmine or darjeeling) or perfumey (earl grey).

Cantonese tea (yum cha)

Guangzou restaurant in Sydney

@Rhodes Shopping Centre- Rhodes phoenix

I've never thought breakfast could be so rich until I've met some friends from Guangzou, and then they introduced to me this, Cantonese tea which is also called as "Yum Cha".

Steamed spareribs

"Yum Cha" is a historic custom since Qing Dynasty and it is a really common routine for the Cantonese.
When we are having Cantonese tea, we will have some chit-chat with friends and families and at the same time we enjoy the tea and dimsum together.

Beef dumplings

Don't forget to taste TEA when you go for "Yum Cha", such as black tea, oolong tea, tie guan yin tea, pu er tea, chrysanthemum tea. I personally like tie guan yin a lot xD
